Corner cubes are used for collimation, reflecting light or a beam of light that hits the prism face back towards its source. Corner cubes retroreflect an image or beam of light back to the original direction through three reflections. Even if the angle of incidence is not zero, the beam or image is inverted and reflected 180°. Corner cubes are not affected by alignment, making them ideal for retroreflective optics.
